Get Ready to Shake Up Your Leadership

Get Ready to Shake Up Your Leadership

I find inspiration in all types of music.  And that includes Bon Jovi.  I’m a proud fan.  I share this not to share my rocker tendencies in my music tastes, but to set up a quote from one of the band’s songs, “We Weren’t Born to Follow:”

“How will you raise your hand when they call your name?”

I want you to think about the meaning of this line as it applies to your leadership.  More specifically, I want you to think about what your answer is as you read this month’s special blog series, “Wake Up & Shake it Up

This blog series is a call to action. It’s a call for uncommon leadership in a time that cries for us to stand up, show up, and inspire people to make a difference in the “world” in which they live.

It doesn’t matter if it’s your “work world” or your sphere of influence in your community.

I’ve asked 12 leadership bloggers – some of the best in my opinion – to write about what each of us can do to lead, to restore optimism at work, to challenge personal leadership routines, to question accepted logic that no longer delivers results.

Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be your personal call to action, at least for the month of June.

The blog series starts tomorrow, June 8th.  My friend Ed McLaughlin kicks us off. He’s @babygorillas on Twitter.

And we want to hear from you.  Share what you’re taking on to shake up your leadership. Share the results. Seek for input from other readers. Give input.

Heck, we’ll even publish reader’s insights and experiences in a special eBook that will capture each blogger’s post.  You, too, can be published. (More on the eBook will come mid-June.)

Will you raise your hand with pride and confidence when they call your name, knowing you made a difference with your leadership?

Rock on.
