Cardboard Boxes for Recycling Of Paper Products
Cardboard boxes are usually prefabricated cardboard boxes and are environmentally friendly. They are commonly used for shipping products and materials and are also reusable. Cardboard is a very good and reliable material for packaging. Cardboard is also commonly recyclable. Specialists in manufacturing rarely use the word cardboard since it doesn’t necessarily denote a material to be used only in manufacturing.
Cardboard Boxes have a variety of uses in various industries. They are widely used as packaging in food, beverage, cosmetic, health and medical, grocery and kitchen and other retail industries. Since they are easily crushable, these cardboard boxes are widely used in packing lunches, hotdogs, beverages, snacks, ice cream, vegetables, meat and seafood. The large size of these boxes makes them ideal for packing whole grains, oats, and cereals.
Cardboard Boxes are also extensively used in the United States as packaging of frozen foods. Corrugated cardboard boxes come in varied sizes and thickness. They are used in packaging raw meats, fish, poultry, dairy, bakery products, confectionary, juices, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, snacks, sherbet, sachets, pickles, pickled or smoked fish, legumes, dairy products, sauces, dressings, tinned foods, powdered, dehydrated, jelly beans, jellies, preserves, infant formula, baby food, juices, infant food, toiletries, medicines, vitamins, herbs and other health products.
Corrugated boxes are made from different types of materials including, paper, wood, corrugated metal, plastic, particle board, fiberboard, PVC, Jute, cellulose and several other materials. Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages. Boxes made from paper or cardboard is a good choice for cost-effectiveness and can be manufactured in different colors, styles and textures. But they are not strong enough and they tear easily when exposed to high temperatures. Wood, on the other hand, is stronger but they are more expensive and they do not come in so many different shapes.
On the other hand, corrugated material has an air pocket between the upper and lower layers which makes it flexible yet sturdy. Therefore, these custom boxes can be stacked or wrapped with paper liners and they do not tear easily. The air pockets make them easy to pack as well as to handle. The thickness of the material makes it thick enough to support the weight of the items that are placed inside it. Also, the air pockets keep the moisture or air out while the items are inside the box.
Cardboard Boxes are made of many layers, each layer with its own purpose. First layer is the corrugated paper which serves as a base layer and helps the layers to be stacked up or rolled down, or crumpled, as the case may be. The next layer is the pulp which holds the ink or color pigments. After this is the glazing material which imparts the shiny appearance to the boxes. Finally, the layers combine to give the final product of the box. With all these functions, the use of Cardboard Boxes is highly beneficial for the recycling of paper products, thus contributing to the environment.
